How to use a spindle
Tie a piece of yarn above the circle on the spindle.
Make a half hitch on the yarn and set it in the notch at
the top-end of the spindle. *
Join the loose fibre on to the yarn, twirl the spindle in a clockwise direction and let the spindle drop. A the same time as the spindle continues spinning, release more fibre and let it spin into yarn.
When a length has been spun, unhook the half hitch and wind the yarn onto the spindle…Repeat… joining the loose fibre on to the yarn.
This makes Single Ply: good for weaving
* Two Ply: good for knitting !
Its easier to lern then spinning !

h) Who says:”You can’t knit on Aeroplanes”?
Dear Mr. Branson,
As a regular longhaul flyer (to Grenada WI). I have come up with the following idea to entertain passengers on the plane.
AIRPORT SECURITY BANS KNITTING NEEDLES
Who says you can't knit on an aeroplane?
(Please put your knitting needles in the luggage on check in!)
Board the plane with your yarn, take a seat and relax, after take-off have a cocktail with ice. You will be surprised to get supplied with two cocktail stirrers for those who want to knit!
It may help with the atmosphere on a long-haul flight and you could maje a knitting video and have knitting patterns of small items tie, bikinis...etc
I hope you this idea seriously and look forward to hearing from you
sue.
